One player wrote in praise of the game’s diversity: “Finally able to give our nonbinary and transgender Sims top surgical scars… You don’t realize how many individuals you just benefited by allowing them to see themselves in this game, @TheSims.”

In its most recent update, The Sims 4 includes a number of inclusive enhancements, including shapewear, top surgery scars, and hearing aids.

The Sims, one of the most popular video games of all time, lets users recreate the lives of virtual residents of a suburban neighborhood. In 2000, it was initially made available.

Players may now create handicapped and transgender characters in the game, which is always expanding and evolving, and choose new outfits like breast binders.

Players may now choose medical equipment when making a Sim, such as hearing aids that come in 15 various colors and can be worn on one ear or both by any character, even a child.

For Sims starting from childhood age, glucose monitors are also available and may be placed on the arm or lower belly.

Teenage and older male Sims can give their avatars top surgery scars to represent transgender characters. After female or male top surgery, horizontal lines of scar tissue are left behind.

For their characters, teenagers and older Sims can also choose binders, which flatten the breasts, and bottom shapewear.

Fans of the game who identify as transgender or have disabilities praised it for being inclusive, with Simmer T Sizzler writing: “Finally able to give our nonbinary and transgender Sims surgical scars. The realism is fantastic. You don’t realize how many people you just benefited by allowing them to see themselves in this game, @TheSims. Imagine all the transgender children who are hiding out who read this update.”

“Never imagined one day I could represent myself in The Sims, but I’m delighted it’s here,” wrote deaf player @LuddySimmer.

“I honestly want to weep over the sims update having blood glucose monitoring just as I have,” @Parkingjm commented.

The most recent version, which was released on January 31, also included several bug fixes, console and navigational enhancements, and additional choices.

Regardless of gender, players have the ability to add both masculine and feminine qualities in 2016.
