Following R Kelly‘s 30-year sentence, popular artiste manager and entertainment show pundit Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, known as Bullgod, predicted that the same thing could happen to some Ghanaian celebrities.
Bullgod asserted confidently that some Ghanaian celebrities are abusing girls in the same way as the convicted American megastar, thus his prediction. Bulldog made these comments on Accra-based 3FM’s Showbiz 927.
“Look, there are a lot of things are happening even down here in Ghana. Maybe they will end up like R. Kelly, or, in the future, you will hear some of these things. It’s plenty happening, but our system is some way, so the people think they’ve gotten away with it”.
In Bullgod’s statements while making these wild claims, the pundit stated that while Ghana’s judicial system has long protected wrongdoers (referring to the celebs he claims are involved in the abuse act), he is confident that they will be exposed in due time.
“I don’t believe that your status can corrupt your morality,” Bulldog added. I believe that your social standing can only enhance who you are.
So, if you’re corrupt from the start, when you get big or famous, you’ll be even more corrupt. So I don’t believe that celebrity can affect your moral fiber.
You know, you push yourself to be good or bad. You are exactly who you are. It’s only amplified when you have the opportunity to do what needs to be done.”
