Shooter Of Lady Gaga's Dog Walker Receives 21-Year Prison Term

While Lady Gaga offered a $500,000 prize for the animals’ safe return, the dog walker, Ryan Fischer, claimed to have had a “very close call with death.”

A man who abducted two of Lady Gaga‘s French bulldogs and shot her dog walker has been given a 21-year prison term.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, James Howard Jackson, one of the three men and two accomplices who took part in the brutal heist last year, entered a no-contest plea to one count of attempted murder.

Ryan Fischer, the dog walker, claimed to have experienced a “very close call with death.”

For the animals’ safe return, Lady Gaga offered a $500,000 prize with “no questions asked.”

A few days later, Jennifer McBride—who was also charged—gave the dogs, Koji and Gustav, back.

Detectives don’t think the burglars were aware of the owners of the dogs.

Their high value—which can reach hundreds of dollars—was the driving force.

Prosecutors claimed that on February 24, 2021, Jackson and the others were “searching for French bulldogs” as they drove through Hollywood, West Hollywood, and the San Fernando Valley. They eventually came across Mr. Fischer and the pop star’s three pets.

When Jackson shot Mr. Fischer, the dog walker screamed as it was captured on a doorbell camera nearby: “Dear God! It was shot at me!” and “Help me, my chest is bleeding out!”

According to the DA’s office, Jackson also acknowledged causing grievous bodily harm and a prior offense.

The agency issued a statement saying, “The plea agreement holds Mr. Jackson accountable for committing a cold-hearted violent act and offers justice for our victim.”

Harold White, a second conspirator, entered a no-contest plea to the charge of having a gun as an ex-offender.

White, who at the time was dating McBride, will be jailed the following year.

After the incident, the couple allegedly made an effort to prevent White’s son Jaylin White from being arrested.

Jaylin White received a four-year state prison term after entering a no-contest plea to a second-degree robbery earlier this year.
