Nicki Minaj’s Husband Kenneth Petty Sentenced To House Arrest For Failing To Register As Sex Offender

Nicki Minaj has previously defended her husband Kenneth Petty, who is currently serving a year in home detention for failing to register as a sex offender after being convicted of rape in 1995. He was previously imprisoned for the crime.

Nicki Minaj’s husband was sentenced to one year in jail for failing to register as a sex offender.

Kenneth Petty, who pleaded guilty to the charge of failing to register last year, was also fined $55,000 (£46,000).

The 44-year-old Kenneth Petty was convicted of rape in New York in 1995, but failed to register in California within the required five days after moving there in 2019.

He was sentenced to four years in prison for the crime in 1995.

Prosecutors had previously asked the judge to sentence Petty to additional prison time, arguing that house arrest was insufficient punishment.

In 2006, Petty was sentenced to seven years in prison after pleading guilty to first-degree manslaughter.

His name is still on the list of sex offenders in New York City.

Minaj and Petty married in 2019 and currently reside in Calabasas, Los Angeles County, California, in a mansion.

Minaj previously defended her husband’s previous actions on social media in 2018, writing: “He was 15 and she was 16… in a romantic relationship But, internet, you can’t run my life. You can’t even manage your own life.”

She also referred to Wendy Williams as a “demon” after the talk show host discussed Petty’s past on TV.
