Nana Ama McBrown, Kwame A Plus, and Mr. Logic have gotten themselves into trouble because of UTV’s United Showbiz program.
The show’s host and her panelists were brought before the court and found guilty of contempt of court.
Following a discussion about him on United Showbiz in July of this year, Chairman Wontumi of the NPP Ashanti Regional sued Afia Schwarzenegger, Nana Ama McBrown, Kwame Obeng Asare aka A, Emmanuel Barnes (Mr Logic), and Dr. Fadda Dickson Narh for contempt.
Nana Ama McBrown, Kwame Obeng Asare (Kwame APlus), and Mr. Logic have each been fined GHS180,000 in a decision by the High Court B in Tema. In retaliation for his disparaging remarks, Chairman Wontumi is to receive this sum.
The court did grant UTV, represented by Fadda Dickson, a pardon though because of its public apology to Chairman Wontumi and display of regret.
The court advised Fadda Dickson that as the managing director of Despite Media Group, he should ensure that appropriate language or information is disseminated during future programs, according to a report by UTV.
On the other hand, Afia Schwarzenegger was given a 10-day prison term as a preventative measure.
