I'm Not A Coward - Amerado On Ending Feud With Lyrical Joe

Rappers Amerado and Lyrical Joe have been trading heavy punches and igniting the music scene for the past week with their ferocious diss tracks.

And just when Ghanaians were enthralled by the two’s “fight” and the dispute had reached a fever pitch, Amerado beat a retreat, prompting others to label him a coward.

However, Amerado asserts that he is far from a coward and that the only reason he didn’t reply to Lyrical Joe’s last message was because he was too preoccupied working on his record to have any free time left.

About two months ago, Amerado won the Best Rapper award at the 5th 3Music Awards, and that’s when everything began. To convey his discontent with the organizers and to emphasize that even Amerado understands he didn’t deserve the prize, Lyrical Joe published the song Letter To 3Music.

When Amerado unleashed Kyibom last week, labeling Lyrical Joe a wack rapper and criticizing his demeanor, he did not immediately reply. After Lyrical Joe responded with Baboon, the two rappers have been releasing back-to-back diss tracks ever since.

Lyrical Joe has dropped Baboon, Mute, Kwabena Numbers, Abaduaba Ameliar, and Obey while Amerado has so far dropped Kyibom, Ponky Joe, Sin No More, and Lyrical Josephine.

Lyrical Joe released Obey on Saturday, but to many people’s astonishment, Amerado’s staff said nothing. Even though he made the announcement to release a second Super Man, his rival has remained silent.

And for this reason, many people—including celebrities like movie producer Socrate Safo and content creator Kwadwo Sheldon—have referred to Amerado as a coward.

Amerado stated in a recent interview with the Graphic Showbiz that he had decided to put an end to the feud since he wanted to concentrate on other tasks.

“I cannot continue beefing because I have other important things to do. It is time to release my commercial album, Gina, and make some money. When I am booked to perform, I cannot do diss songs. I need to do commercial songs and make money.

“At the right time when I have nothing doing, I may consider replying him but as for now, my focus is on my new album” he said.

He responded to being referred to as a coward for not responding to Lyrical Joe’s Obey by saying  “If Lyrical Joe is interested in continuing with the beef, he can do so but as for me, I am busy working on my album at the moment.

“I responded to all his diss songs just to let him know I am ready any day he brings it on so how am I a coward now? This is simply not the right time for me to be responding to diss songs. I have no more time to spare. I am very busy”, he added.

Moving on from feuds to his most recent single, Grace featuring Lasmid, Amerado claimed that Ghanaians will be surprised by it.

“I dropped a teaser of Grace and already the response is great. I am getting all the applause and that is my focus now. More bangers this year”
