Medikal, a Ghanaian musician, is said to have been denied a US visa.
According to Ghanaweb portal, the father of one was denied a visa to the United States on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, following an interview at the Embassy Accra.
According to GhanaWeb, he was denied the visa because he was convicted for brandishing a gun in 2021.
AMG Armani, who shares the same label as him, was also denied a visa for unknown reasons.
It will be vividly remembered that in 2021, the rapper was sentenced to 300 units, or GHS 3,600, or to serve a nine-month prison term after pleading guilty to brandishing a gun.
The penalty was imposed after he informed the circuit court in Accra that he wanted to change his plea from “not guilty to guilty.”
Chief Inspector Denis Terkpetey led the charge, telling the court, “we [the prosecution] are not aware that he wants to change his plea.”
According to sources, the Court presided over by His Honour Emmanuel Essandoh also ordered the prosecution to return the gun to him after questioning why the prosecution wanted to be pre-informed.
Medikal was sentenced to one week in jail at the Ankaful prison, alongside his best friend Shatta Wale, who also caused public panic and fear with his phony shooting incident.
