Glastonbury Festival Tickets Sell Out In An Hour, But "Technical glitches" On the Booking Site Frustrate Fans

On social media, eager Glastonbury attendees expressed their frustration by making the joke that it would be “easier to establish a band and play Glastonbury than it is to obtain tickets.”

Tickets for the Glastonbury Festival have already sold out in one hour, but many fans were upset since the ticketing website had a “technical glitch.”

After the tickets went on sale at 9 am on Sunday, users claimed that the website kept failing at various points during the booking process.

Normally, they sell out in about 30 minutes, but this year it took twice as long.

Official Glastonbury Twitter post from 10:03 a.m. “Glastonbury 2023 tickets are now sold out.

On a morning when demand vastly outweighed supply, we would like to thank everyone who purchased one and apologize to those who did not. Any tickets that are canceled or returned will be sold again in the spring of 2023.

Glastonbury’s ticketing company, See Tickets, had pleaded with customers to “be patient with us” and stated that it was “working on a technical problem” at 9:49 am.

Potential festival attendees complained about the situation on social media.

One person said that starting a band and playing Glastonbury would be “easier than getting tickets.”

One person laughed and said, “The time change in October is just to give everyone an extra hour to waste trying to get Glastonbury tickets.”

Last week, tickets that include coach transportation were sold out in 23 minutes.

The 2023 festival is held in Somerset’s Worthy Farm from June 21 to June 25, 2023.

Compared to the 2022 event, the ticket has increased to £335 plus a £5 booking fee from £280 plus a $5 cost.

Emily Eavis, the organizer, tweeted: “Although we are overjoyed that so many of you want to attend Glastonbury next year, we regret that a significant number of people were unable to purchase a ticket this morning due to the fact that demand considerably outstripped supply.

“We appreciate everyone who tried to purchase a ticket. Your dedication to this festival is greatly valued.
