FDA Must Track Products Which Are Advertised On Social Media – Yvonne Nelson Suggests

Award winning Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has suggested in an interview that the Food and Drugs Authority must investigate products which are advertised on social media.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra Fm, the actress said people are using social media to sell and advertise unapproved products the innocent people who has no clue about the harmful part of such products.

”Ok anther thing, so for example, is the FDA and all these bodies who gives approval for people to start their business, i think there’s so much going on on social media, anybody at all can just wake up and say they are selling something. Err the FDA i don’t know if they can track all of that on social media, and it’s affecting the young ones because they are buying stuffs, they drinking teas errm they’re puttung stuffs on their bellies just because they feel like somebody had surgery and they look a certain way and they don’t even know the person had surgery but then this person who had surgery is telling you that drink this tea and your tummy is going to look like this and it doesn’t resonate to you that she has done surgery”, Yvonne told Nana Romeo.

She then drew the attention of those misleading people on social media letting them know it is a dangerous thing they are doing and also called on authorities to track them and make sure they are doing the right thing on social media.

She added, ”So those misleading people on social media, it’s a very dangerous thing they are doing, and i don’t know how we will do it. But if there’s a way, we can track people like that and make sure they are doing the right thing on social media because they are harming and hurting innocent people, ignorant people”.
