The Delay Show’s production team has expressed extreme disbelief at Blakk Rasta’s allegedly inconsistent version of whether or not Dr. UN was his roommate at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
In an attempt to dispel rumors that he was never a student at the Kumasi-based tertiary institution, Kwame Owusu Fordjour, famous for organizing the Global Blueprint Excellence Awards in memory of the late United Nations Secretary-General, Kofi Annan, named Blakk Rasta as one of his classmates at the university in an interview on The Delay Show.
“He was my mate and he was at Katanga Hall, officially called University Hall. In fact, he was also a radio presenter, and I was playing reggae there. I finished in 2001, so this was in 1997. I met him there, the long and short of it all is, he was my mate,” Blakk Rasta told GhanaWeb after a post from Deloris Frimpong Manso (Delay) which said he [Blakk Rasta] had told her production team “he remembers him (Dr. UN) from the radio station and not as his mate”.
In an interview with GhanaWeb following the release, one of The Delay Show’s producers, Alexander Abaka, expressed his inability to understand why the station would provide two distinct accounts.
When Blakk Rasta’s name came up as one of his classmates during the shoot, Abaka revealed that he spoke with Blakk Rasta to find out more about his relationship with Dr. UN.
According to Blakk Rasta’s interview with GhanaWeb and Abaka’s interaction with the latter, the producer of The Delay Show claimed to be perplexed and “trying to comprehend how automatically it all springs out… How he is this time spinning the whole issue.
