Daniel Craig Returns In The Knives Out Sequel Glass Onion, And This Time He’s Looking Into Influencers

Daniel Craig returns in the Knives Out sequel Glass Onion, and this time he's looking into influencers.

Knives Out was such a success in 2019, that Netflix has scooped up the franchise, allegedly paying £375 million for Glass Onion and one more sequel. This time around, the ensemble cast includes Kate Hudson, Edward Norton, and Janelle Monae.

Daniel Craig returns as elegant investigator Benoit Blanc in Glass Onion, a sequel to his 2019 blockbuster Knives Out, in his first film since his final appearance as James Bond.

This time, celebrities and influencers are being investigated as the film takes a satirical look at the decadence of the ultra-modern affluent and famous.

While the film makes fun of internet stereotypes and memes, its protagonist claims he has no ambitions to create a profile in the virtual world. “Wild horses couldn’t take me to a social media account,” Craig said, according to Sky News.

Thinking before speaking is one of the movie’s lessons, which the actor claims is a lesson for everyone, whether or not they use social media.

I mean, I’m not above any of it; I could learn it, we all could learn it, he remarked. “I probably avoid social media for a number of reasons, one of which is that I don’t want to say something that I could later regret.

You’ll notice in this interview that I don’t have any thinking before I speak, despite the fact that I kind of wants to!

Knives Out, a 2019 smash blockbuster, was so successful that Netflix decided to start a franchise and allegedly paid £375 million for this movie and one more sequel.

Both Craig and writer-director Rian Johnson pushed for the streaming service to screen Glass Onion in all three of America’s major theater chains.

We keep stating the obvious, but watching movies together is a fantastic experience, added Craig.

There is no wrong way to do it, Johnson continued. “It’s been something that’s important to us from the beginning and with the first movie, just having viewers enjoy it together and experience it at home as well – so there’s no wrong way to do it.”

With filming taking place in a bubble during the epidemic, the actors found themselves spending a lot of time together even though Craig is returning and the rest of the extremely illustrious ensemble cast is new.

But despite the presence of so many A-listers, there didn’t seem to be any diva-like behavior on or off the set.

The actress who portrays former supermodel turned fashion designer Birdie Jay, Kate Hudson, believes that casting was crucial.

With the characters and our interactions with one another, you want to “bring that energy and that type of shine to life,” she remarked.

“And that’s how you do that; you do it by developing intimate relationships and fostering settings that encourage them as they did. Additionally, it is important to hire actors who will get along well with one another and who won’t cause trouble.”

Johnson is credited by Janelle Monae, who portrays tech entrepreneur Andi Brand, for setting the correct tone.

She remarked, “I was extremely astonished by simply his composure on set. “This is a large cast with a variety of personalities, things happen during production, there may be technical issues, and certain things may not go as planned, but I never saw him lose his cool – and that helped us as the performers,” the actor said.

We were filming a murder mystery whodunit and then playing a murder mystery game like the mafia for fun, but all that stuff we did outside of filming helped us to just trust each other onscreen even more – and we really, really like each other. He would also plan these murder mystery parties on the weekends.
